NATO vessels visit Batumi

NATO vessels visit Batumi. This morning vessels from Standing NATO Mine Countermeasures Group 2 (SNMCMG2) arrived in Batumi for a scheduled port visit as part of the group’s deployment in the Black Sea. The visit is yet another demonstration of NATO's long-standing commitment to Georgia.

Four vessels from NATO member states, and their crews, are participating in the visit along with the Allied Maritime Command (MARCOM) Deputy Commander Vice Admiral Hervé Bléjean of the French Navy and Commander of SNMCMG2, Commander Justin Hains of the Royal Navy. The vessels come from Romania, Turkey and Bulgaria.

MARCOM Deputy Commander Bléjean also paid a courtesy call to Georgian Minister of Internal Affairs later the opening ceremony.
