The multinational exercise “Noble Partner 2018” has officially opened in Vaziani military airfield today.
“Noble Partner 2018”, which is held for the fourth time in Georgia, is a Georgian Armed Forces and US Army Europe led exercise, which intends to enhance participating nations’ readiness and interoperability. US generals have arrived in Georgia in connection with this day.
President Giorgi Margvelashvili, Prime Minister Mamuka Bakhtadze, Chairman of Parliament Irakli Kobakhidze, Minister of Defense Levan Izoria, Chief of the General Staff of Georgian Armed Forces Major General Vladimer Chachibaia, acting US Ambassador to Georgia Elizabeth Rood and Chief of the US National Guard Bureau Gen. Joseph L. Lengyel addressed the military servicemen after performing the Georgian State Anthem and observing a minute of silence in tribute of fallen military servicemen.
“Noble Partner 2018” will last until August 15. The following 13 countries are taking part in the multinational exercise: Georgia, USA, UK, Germany, Estonia, France, Lithuania, Poland, Norway, Turkey, Ukraine, Azerbaijan and Armenia. The goal of the multinational military exercise “Noble Partner 2018” is to improve skills in stability, defensive and offensive operations, increase interoperability between the armed forces of participating countries and contribute to security of the Black Sea region.
