Presentation of the second phase of the large-scale project of the Information Center

On 4 of September the presentation of the second phase of the project “Increasing Regional Outreach and Engagement over Western Integration” was held at Information Center on NATO and EU. 

  

For continuation of the project “Increasing Regional Outreach and Engagement over Western Integration” The United States Department of State has allocated extra 250 000 US dollars as a grant for the Information Center on NATO and EU, which will ensure raising public awareness about the benefits of the European and Euro-Atlantic integration process throughout the country. 

  

Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia David Zalkaliani and U.S. Ambassador to Georgia Kelly C. Degnan delivered speeches during the presentation. The US-Georgia’s strategic partnership and the importance of the implantation of the project was emphasized during the statements.

The achievements and outcomes of the first phase of the project, as well as, new priorities of the second phase were presented by Director of Information Center on NATO and EU Tamara Tsuleskiri. 

  

Representatives of governmental agencies, civil society and media attended the event. 

  

The project is aiming at strengthening conscious public support for Georgia’s European and Euro-Atlantic integration and increasing citizens’ resilience towards disinformation and hostile narratives.  In the frames of the project, complex information campaigns and capacity building activities will be conducted across the country to effectively promote the country’s western integration and counter anti-western propaganda and myths about NATO and the EU.  

 

This is the first large-scale project, which was granted for the Government of Georgia to counter anti-western propaganda, by raising public awareness on Georgia’s European and Euro-Atlantic integration process.
